Located in sunny Queensland, Georgia and husband Brandon decided it was time to transform their kitchen and laundry area into a coastal paradise! They wanted to create the perfect entertainer’s kitchen whilst keeping it practical with heaps of storage for their growing family. Watch as Georgia and Brandon take us through their kitchen and laundry/butler’s renovation, from inspiration through to installation.

“We just purchased our first reno project and always planned on doing the kitchen. We love having people over and LOVE our coffee so we wanted a kitchen that would be great for hosting people. But also wanted to add value to the house.” Says Georgia

When Georgia and Brandon first purchased the home, they intended for it to be an investment property and swiftly move on to the next project but with a baby on the way they have decided to stay put, for a while at least.

“We were keen to sell and do another reno as soon as possible but now that the kitchen is done we are in love with it and we’ve definitely got second thoughts and now with a baby on the way I think we’ll enjoy it for a few years now.” Says Georgia

For the ultimate classic coastal look and feel, Georgia and Brandon selected our macaroon doors and panels in the alpine profile and combined them with our salento handles in gold. In the butler’s pantry/laundry space, they decided to go with timber-look hazelnut benchtops and incorporated this into their kitchen as floating shelves for a cohesive look.

“We’ve never done a kitchen reno before so for our first-time planning and designing, we wanted a kitchen that would be simple, clean and classic. We really wanted to have the floating shelves to help tie in the laundry benchtop to the rest of the space and they worked perfectly with our flooring. Also, gold is my fav!!! So, I was excited to incorporate this in our kitchen.” Says Georgia

When it came to deciding on a layout for the kitchen, Georgia and Brandon decided to stick with a galley and also kept the laundry in the same position. This layout worked perfectly for them as they chose to be super savvy and made the space a dual laundry/butler’s pantry – really making use of the existing space.

“We wanted the Laundry to be multi-functional and to add another little feature to the kitchen. By having it half pantry this allows us to have more space when entertaining so we can keep our main kitchen area tidy.” Says Brandon

When it came to installation, Georgia and Brandon left it to the professionals but did have a go at assembling a couple of products and to their surprise, it was easier than expected.

“We had a professional come install but we also did help as well surprisingly it was easier than expected so going into another reno we’re confident we’d be able to use Kaboodle products again.” Says Georgia

The kitchen really is the heart of the home, so we had to ask Georgia and Brandon how this new kitchen has impacted their everyday life. We also couldn’t stop Georgia from raving about our soft close drawers!

“It has totally added so much value to our home and is the main area where we gather in the home now we can’t wait to make memories in the space! Another feature that I want to rave about is the soft close drawers adds another level of classy!!” Says Georgia

Lastly, we asked Georgia and Brandon if they would recommend kaboodle to their friends and family…. Spoiler alert, they would!

“We would - I think people around us have seen how amazing it turned out for how affordable Kaboodle is it’s an awesome option for a kitchen reno and really the process is pretty straight forward as long as your prepared.” Says Brandon
