Sue and Graeme gave their laundry a much-needed face lift - now washing day’s a breeze!
Sue and Graeme’s laundry was dated with minimal bench space and practicality. They decided to update the space and in doing so, have create a gorgeous and functional Hamptons-inspired room!
We asked Sue and Graeme a few questions about their laundry transformation and how they found the process, from planning right through to installation.
What made you want to change your original laundry?
The original space was not functional, there was no bench space and it was just outdated. We have five people in our household so a lot of time is spent doing laundry but as the room was so impractical, I would have to fold and do the laundry in other parts of the house.
What were the benefits of using a kaboodle kitchen?
A major benefit of using kaboodle was the cost effectiveness. Prior to using kaboodle I renovated my kitchen with a custom cabinet maker but the price of kaboodle is very reasonable for a very good quality product. The turnaround time was also very good and I appreciated the in-home planning service that Bunnings provided.
Which door colours did you select from our range and why?
Keeping with a Hamptons style, I chose the macaroon doors in the alpine profile.
Which benchtop did you use?
To compliment the clean white cabinets, I chose the marble-look mayonella benchtop as it is one of their customisable options, so I could have it in a length of 2.8m.
How was the process of planning, designing, purchasing and installing?
I was pleasantly surprised with how fuss free the whole process was. The Bunnings in-home designer made practical suggestions about how to best utilise the space, like including a double pantry to accommodate an ironing board and vacuum, and he listened to my ideas as well. There were plenty of options for colours, profiles and benchtops to make it feel like a bespoke design. I am happy to recommend the kaboodle experience for anyone who has zero experience in reno’s...
What’s your favourite part of the kitchen?
My favourite part was seeing the 3D design come to life in the planning process, then having a total transformation of that space in a morning. As the doors and benchtops are manufactured off site and delivered a few weeks later, it is possible to have a new laundry installed very quickly.
Anything else you’d like to share, how it’s changed your day-to-day life?
I am impressed with the quality of the product, and having the option of having a designer measure the space means there are no worries about getting the wrong sizes that don’t fit. Friends compliment me on the benchtop size and colour saying it is such a lovely room to be in, and maybe too nice to be doing the laundry in. I have never been happier doing the washing now - thanks kaboodle.
