Sally and Adam wanted something durable that still looked fantastic, follow their journey below.
Spending most of their weekends at their country getaway home, Sally and Adam decided to create a unique space with the perfect blend of design and practicality.
“Our old kitchen was terrible. It was ugly and seriously dysfunctional. It didn’t make good use of the small space and that was our biggest challenge. We had so many appliances that didn’t fit anywhere; we had to keep the blender and juicer in the laundry.”
The couple decided on a DIY kitchen early on and wanted something durable that still looked great. After looking around at options, they were pleased that kaboodle cabinets were solid and not flimsy, “The online kaboodle kitchen planner allowed us to design our new kitchen when we had the time.”
Adam said it was important to keep things “modern and uplifting since this is the place we escape to most weekends.”
Sally agreed adding, “I just needed it to look incredible. I’ve got a passion for vivid colour so I loved picking out the colours and textures. We chose a natural bamboo benchtop and Black Gloss doors, then sourced vintage tiles to bring it all together.”
Both DIY’ers said the installation was, “a bit of a challenge at first” as they had never really ventured into anything like it before, “but the cabinet instructions were a big help throughout the whole process” Sally said.
As the couple live in the city during the week, the kitchen was built over a few weekends.
