Choosing between standard, soft close and push to open hinges and runners
At kaboodle we want you to have choice when it comes to your hardware, but we also want to make it as easy as we can to decide what is right for you, so here are a few extra details that should help.
Standard hinges and runners offer you a reliable, budget friendly option when it comes to your hardware. You can trust that they’ll stand up to the test of time having been installed into thousands of kitchens as part of the Flatpax system.
Soft close hinges and runners are not only durable, but they offer a premium – smooth, silent closing motion. This means no more slamming doors or drawers and is a nice added safety feature to help protect those little fingers with their reduced closing speed. More and more people are choosing soft close, and once you do you wouldn’t want it any other way!
Push to open hinges and runners are increasing in popularity. They allow you to create a clean, handle-less look for the ultimate in minimalist design. For some of those tricky cabinets like the corner base and wall cabinets, try our push to release mechanism.
Once you’ve chosen the features you want from your hinges and runners, make sure they also match your cabinets. Soft close hinges are not suitable for use with corner cabinets, slimline cabinets or frosted glass doors. The push to release mechanism and push to open hinges are not suitable for use with frosted glass doors.
